(5-17-2010) Mechanicsville, MD – The Northeast Outlaw Pro Mods second event of the 2010 season at Maryland International Raceway was a huge success with a huge crowd, and over 22 Pro Mods contesting eight qualifying positions in each of the two classes.

Both the North East Outlaw Pro Mods and the MMPSA were on hand to give the fans a show they would never forget. We would also like to thanks Royce Miller and all of his incredible staff for hosting this spectacular event. The fans showed up in force, and NEOPMA and MMPSA went on to put on a great event. The track was in great shape, and it showed with many side by side runs throughout the day and into the evening.

Taking the pole on the Blower/Turbo side in the T.J. & Sons Towing 69’ Daytona was Peter Farber of Baldwinville, MA with a 6.03 at 240.55 MPH. Abingdon, MD’s  Fredy Scriba qualified number one on the Nitrous side with an incredible 6.02 at 235.93 in his 63’ Sorcerer Corvette.

On the Nitrous side Harold Martin in his 10’ Martin M4 defeated Steve Cossis in round one, 7.204 to DQ, Ed Burnley in round two, 6.312 to a tire shaking 13.45. The finals were exciting to watch as both cars struggled to get down the track as Harold Martin edged Joe Dunne 6.533 at 155.97 to a losing 6.565 at 223.43

On the Blower Side, Tim O’Hare and his O’Hare Motorsports Team defeated VMP Winner Dina Parise in round one, 6.325 to a tire smoking 19.044,  Pete Farber in round two, 6.075 to a close 6.101 and Steve Drummond 6.04 at 231.08 to a tire shaking 9.164.

“The facilities, staff, and management exceeded our expectations. The track was maintained perfectly, the staff was accommodating, and Royce Miller and Jason Miller maintained a perfectly executed event, and we would like to thank all of our Teams, Drivers and Crew’s of the NEOPMA that showed up at MIR and put on a great event, and all the fans of fast quarter mile drag racing. We would also like to thank Tommy Dupree and the MMPSA for all they do for the sport of quarter mile drag racing.

The NEOPMA would like to also thank Johnny Rocca for his professional announcing and support, Jimmy Biggs of Yellow Bullet for his live feed and video taping of the event, and Rocking Rob for his announcing and interviews.
