Len Capone and his team deserve a special thank you for their warm hospitality and track prep.
The weather was good, the track and people were super. We had 11 cars show up with two cars having to leave before qualifying.
QUALIFYING
Only 9 cars made it to qualifying. Dave Norris was # 1 qualifier with a 5.769 @ 255 MPH, closely followed by Tyler Hard 5.792 @ 250, Dean Marinis 5.797 @ 246 and Joe Dunne 5.911 @ 240. The rest of the field were still fine tuning with Gary Hood running 6.85 @ 201, Harrell / Montana team struggled with a 6.96 @ 160, Mike Pollaro lifting ran 7.97 @ 153 as did Wayne Taylor 8.22 @ 172. So, we ended up with 8 cars in PME and one DNQ.
Eliminations: Pro Mod Round 1
Dean Marinis / Harry Pappas ran an easy 6.18 @ 230 because the Harrell / Montana team crossed the line. Tyler Hard fouled ( -.008 ) ran an outstanding 5.764 @ 252 winning while Mike Pollaro also fouled ( -.316 ) running 6.685 @ 196 .Joe Dunne and Gary Hood had a stab and steer fest with Joe taking the win with a 6.30 @ 236 Dave Norris hurt something in the burnout giving the win to Dwayne Taylor who coasted down the track.
Eliminations: Round 2
Joe Dunne ran an easy 6.025 @ 232 as Dwayne Taylor fouled running a 6.86 @ 204 Tyler Hard broke on the line but Dean Marinis pushed it down with a clean 5.77 @ 246
Eliminations: Finals
Joe Dunne had a super light (.017) ran a great 5.93 @ 239 but couldn’t hang on to Dean Marinis scalding 5.76 @ 241.
Great racing at a great well prepped track with good weather.
