(Mechanicsville, MD April 17th) Mac McAdams took his first win during competition in the “NEOPMA” Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association Season Opener at the Haltech 8th Annual Maryland International Raceway “Door Wars” presented by the Winegardner Auto Group.
A stellar weekend for Mac McAdams, making the full transition from his two wheeled term as a serious competitor in the Drag Bike arena into full time “Pro Mod” this year. McAdams team had overcome various electrical and mechanical obstacles during their run to the winners circle. The true grit of this team showed its strength as they pursued their objective not only with their best times of McAdams career but heading to the finals, a masterpiece of keeping a level head and focus on their first ever “NEOPMA” winners circle appearance. Heavy testing took its toll on parts and worked the crew to the limits with a broken wishbone in the rear end looking like it would stop the string of five second passes. A new day dawned Sunday and the “McAdams Motorsports” Supercharged 53 Corvette was back on the track.

McAdams stated “The word of the day is “Speechless” for me! I’m going to try and summarize my weekend. Career best 1/8 3.87 191mph 5.94 233mph. had the absolute worst tire shake experience ever …fixed everything. Electrical gremlins/barely made each round all to take my first Pro Mod car win in NEOPMA! Here goes my thank you list…my wife Lisa McAdams my daughter Paige McAdams crew Chief and friend Brandon Booher (huge reason this happened) car Chief Derek Wisooker (hardest working man at work and on my car) Will Rush, Leroy Dewdney (engine guru), Steve Wood (truck driver) all my employee’s that care and support what we do! HUGE unreal sportsmanship from Steve King / Jeff Miller and his entire team! I couldn’t and wouldn’t have been able to even compete let alone win without their help and ALL the parts the loaned us! Guys and gals I’m a humble man that works hard but couldn’t do it alone! McAdams Motorsports has proven we work hard and do whatever we have to run in the front!”
McAdams had competed in the NEOPMA series last year but his continued efforts with drag bike racing and trying to also run a competitive Pro Mod was at odds with each other so the plan was laid out to focus just on the Pro Mod. As you can see the teams hard work paid off taking on some of the quickest cars in the Northeast cleaning house from round one to the finals with Kevin McCurdy, a supercharged ending with both running belt driven horsepower. The blazing sun added some drama with a tricky surface to the finals as McAdams would leave .191 on Kevin McCurdy .307 and the pedal-fest would begin. Both broke loose and fought for the 1320ft stripe at the end as McAdams would finish the run ahead of McCurdy. The sound of angry supercharged motors blipping away at the throttle had fans on their feet as McAdams would ensure his trip to the winners circle with a 6.121 @ 201 while McCurdy tried to run him down 6.207 @ 238 in his losing effort.
