We did it again!!! A super race at a super track with 20 PM cars attending despite Coronavirus, weather concerns, PDRA competition and other issues. Royce, Jason and the MDIR did their usual amazing track prep but the air had lots of water effecting our performance a bit. Here are some highlights:

Qualifying:
Two guys broke in the test sessions. Kevin McCurdy ran a stout 3.64 @ 208, Dean Marinis / Harry Pappas followed close behind with a 3.68 @ 204, while Matt Deitsch Jr. ran 3.72@ 202, Fred Scriba 3.73 @ 202, Dave Norris 3.83 @173 ( really lifting ) Derek Ward 3.852 @ 173 ( lifting ), followed by Gary Courtier 3.858 @ 196, Mike Walker 386 @ 190, David De Marco 3.98@ 186. The remainder of the cars ran between 4.0s to 4.7s with apparent issues. Two cars broke in testing / qualifying (Derrick Townes and Casey Stemper) so we filled the fields with alternates.

Eliminations: Round One
Kevin McCurdy 3.72 beat David gates 4.58, DeMarco 3.98 beat Mike Walker (new car) 4.2, Dave Norris powerful 3.73 beat John Cozzalli 4.2, Dwayne Taylor lost to Fred Scriba new combo 3.76, Struggling Ed Burnley lost to Dean Marinis 3.68. Struggling Gary Courtier lost to equally struggling Wally Zalak, Struggling Mike Meadows lost to Matt Deitsch Jr. 3.70, Andy Jensen (newly engaged) 3.94 beat struggling Derek Ward.

Round Two …NOW THING WERE GETTING TIGHTER BUT WAIT …IT GETS BETTER
McCurdy wheel standing, lifting 3.73 beat DeMarco 3.94 Scriba blistering 3.67 beat Norris 3.77 Marinis / Pappas 3.73 beat Zalak clutch problems / tire shaking, Andy Jensen tire shaking / lifting lost to straight as an arrow Deitsch Jr. 3.72

Round Three …NOW THING WERE GETTING HOT
McCurdy wheel standing 3.74 beat Scriba sideways tire shaking / lifting 3.86. DOOR TO DOOR Marinis (one of the best Nitrous tuners) 3.76 lost to his student Deitsch 3.72. Another DOOR TO DOOR

Finals …One O’clock in the Morning
Matt Deitsch Jr. won his first PM race ever 3.71 beating Kevin McCurdy wheel standing 3.76. Wow, Really Door to Door
