Long Island, NY – July 02, 2021 – THE NORTHEAST OUTLAW PRO MOD ASSOCIATION (NEOPMA) will run its Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Challenge race at Empire Dragway in Leicester, New York, over the weekend of July 30-31, 2021, and the event is shaping up to be one of the biggest, baddest, and fastest in the region.
As the Northeast’s premier eighth-mile Pro Mod drag racing organization, the NEOPMA offers high-caliber competition with great payouts. More than twenty top racers have already pre-entered for the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Challenge including Ken Quartuccio, Melanie Salemi, Anthony DiSomma, 2019 NEOPMA champion David Norris, and many others; all will be gunning for the $7,000 grand prize to win thanks to sponsor contributions from Brian Hard, Fred Scriba, Gene Pilot, Dave Hance, Kurt Steding, and Kevin Koch.
In addition to the winner’s purse, the race will pay $2,000 to the runner up, $800 to each semi-finalist, $700 to each second-round loser, $600 to each first-round loser, $250 to the number one qualifier plus $200 in VP Racing Fuels awards, and a consolation race will be held with payouts of $500 for 4-6 cars or $1,000 for 7-8 cars available to first-round losers and racers who did not qualify. Best of all, entry to the race (including driver and up to three crew members) is free for all current NEOPMA members who have paid their annual dues.
“The NEOPMA expects to have one of the best Pro Mod events in Empire Dragway’s history,” said John Mazzorana, Director of the NEOPMA. Patrick Budd, General Manager of Empire Dragway, added that he believes “this will be one of the largest Pro Mod events in this area since the early hay days of IHRA.”
Empire Dragway is known for having an outstanding racing surface and great amenities, while recent upgrades only further solidify the track as a favorite for both racers and fans.
“I believe that Empire is as good as any NHRA national event track I have ever raced at. I test at Empire a lot and can attest that this is one of the finest tracks with a smooth surface, super track prep, clean, comfortable parking, and great hospitality,” asserted three-time NHRA Pro Modified world champion Mike Janis. “Empire Dragway is the Northeast’s little hidden gem. Have no fear, we have been 3.6s there,” confirmed Melanie and Jon Salemi.
The Thursday prior to the start of the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Challenge will feature parking and testing, followed by more testing during the day on Friday, July 30, with the first round of qualifying taking place that evening. Qualifying will continue on Saturday and eliminations will follow.
Big payouts, super testing, plenty of parking, and fantastic weather promise to make the event one of the NEOPMA’s best yet. As the NEOPMA recently ran one of the quickest qualifying rounds in the organization’s history with a 16-car field bump spot of 3.69-seconds at the YellowBullet Nationals, fans can expect to see even more exciting door-to-door drag racing action and crazy quick elapsed times at the next event. Don’t miss the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Challenge at Empire Dragway on July 30-31!

About Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association (NEOPMA):
Established in 1992, the Northeast Pro Mod Association (NEOPMA) was originally known as the Northeast Pro Shootout Association. It was formed to provide local Pro-Mod racers the opportunity to provide entertainment for spectators, increase sponsor promotions and advertisement, and help tracks drive more spectator business. 20+ years later, our continued success is proven by its longevity and ongoing performance in this arena. Recently we expanded the Pro-Shootout to include outlaw cars, including turbo and naturally aspirated cars to provide a broader array of competition and fun for all. We now have a perfect blend of different types of cars, drivers, and engine types to appeal to a broad diversity of racing fans.
