Derrick Townes suffered a hair raising crash during his Semi Final elimination round against opponent Tyler Hard. The result would be Tyler Hard's spectacular nitrous flaming Camaro taking the win 6.00 @ 236 and Derrick Townes making contact with the wall in Hard’s lane right behind him. Both racers were almost dead even from the launch to the 1/8th when Townes (No Time) began moving quickly towards the wall on his side and shooting across the track.

Most everyone knows the name "Chuck Mohn" and "Skull Gear Racing". Chuck Mohn has been one of the most prominent Northeast racers as far back as 2011 where he began building his outstanding resume' of breaking records at almost every venue including the ADRL where he started his transition into the Pro Modified Ranks from his Top Sportsman roots. The Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association (NEOPMA) will kick off their season at the 7th Annual Door Wars April 17th-19th on the legendary grounds of the newly purchased MDIR Raceway (Maryland International Raceway, Budd's Creek Maryland). The racing season isn't finalized until the yearly banquet is held with a great time for all. This year "President" John Mazzorana moved the dinner banquet to Pompei Ristorante, Hempstead NY. A four star catering and banquet facility with the club filling themselves on a five course meal throughout the evening; from appetizers to cake it was delicious. John Mazzorana had a table full of awards, envelopes filled with checks and as a host he managed to keep everyone's attention with his lively comments and his never ending upbeat attitude about the club and it's future which is bright. Although the night called for another of the weatherman's "Super Snow Storms of the Century" which of course didn't happen may have kept some of the members away; we still had 89 well dressed, well fed and slightly inebriated members bench racing and just having fun and looking forward to this years competition.
